Trump promised to complete the wall on the southern border of the United States before the end of his term

The current US administration, led by President Donald Trump, will complete the construction of a protective wall on the US-Mexico border before the expiration of his term of office. Such a promise was made by US Vice President Michael Pence, speaking at the annual conference of conservative circles of the American ruling Republican Party in the suburbs of Washington, reports TASS.

“We will build it all before we finish our work,” he said. “We have already begun to build it.”

The audience at the same time began to chant: “Build a wall! Build a wall! ”

Note that if Trump fails to achieve re-election in November 2020, his term will expire in January 2021.

On February 15, Trump signed a declaration on the introduction of a state of emergency on the southern border of the country. As Acting Head of the White House Office Mick Mulvaney told journalists at a telephone briefing, this will allow Trump, in particular, to accumulate a total of about $ 8 billion. These funds will be used to erect or repair fences on the 376.5 km border with Mexico. The US government believes this will help the authorities curb illegal immigration and drug smuggling.
